Author’s Description: “The “Fair 4 Utah” map is a good compromise. Each district has a good rural mix. All of the state’s counties are in one district except Salt Lake, Utah, and Juab. Salt Lake County is split into three districts: North and East, West, South and middle Utah County is split into two districts. Juab County is all in District 1 except 356 persons in District 4 used to balance the districts. The Northern counties are in the same district. Davis County is not split. All the cites in Salt Lake County are whole except West Valley City which likes being in two districts. Salt Lake City is not split. District 1 consist of medium and small size counties. None of the three largest counties(Salt Lake, Utah, and Davis) are in the District 1. The largest county, Weber 33.5%, in District 1 is the fourth largest in the state. The other counties by size are Washington 20.0%, Cache 16.3%, Tooele 8.4%, Box Elder 7.2%, Iron 6.7%, Millard 1.8%,Juab 1.4%, Morgan 1.4%, Kane 1.0%, Beaver 1.0%, Garfield .7%, Rich .3%, and Piute .2%. They will have a voice. District 2 is a balance of two large counties(Salt Lake 46%, Davis 44%) and two small counties(Summit 5.3%, Uintah 4.7%, Daggett 0.2%). The Salt Lake county cites are the similar East canyon communities of Salt Lake City, Millcreek, Cottonwood Heights, Holiday, and Emigration Canyon. District 3 largest counties are Utah 54% and Salt Lake 31%. Utah county contains cities East of I15 and Utah Lake. Salt Lake county contains the cities of Sandy, Murray, Draper, Midvale, White City, Granite, and Alta. All of Draper is in District 3 both parts of Salt Lake and Utah counties. The other counties by size are Wasatch, Carbon, Duchesne, San Juan, Emery, Grand, and Wayne. District 4 counties by size are Salt Lake 72%, Utah 21%, Sanpete 4%, Sevier 3% and Juab 0.1%. Salt Lake county contains similar communities on the West side ranging from Magna in the North and Bluffdale in the South. The largest cities by size are West Valley City, West Jordan, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Riverton, Kearns, Magna, and Herriman. District 4 is the largest district in Salt Lake county. Utah county contains cities West and South of Utah Lake.”
